Trinity's women's tennis team lost a 6-3 match to Tarleton State
University on Friday afternoon at the Lee Rebel Invitational.
Trinity (0-1) fell behind
early in the match as Tarleton State took two of the three doubles
contests. The Tigers then won two of the six singles matchups.
Katy Poettcker and Kelsie
Lawson won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles, but Poettcker was beaten 4-6, 2-6
at No. singles. Katie Griffith and Kassie Seger were singles
winners, at No. 2 and No. 6, respectively.
Griffith won 6-3, 7-6 in
singles, but lost an 8-1 match at No. 2 doubles, teaming up with
Erin Jamison. Seger took a 6-0, 1-6, 10-8 win at No. 6
singles.
Trinity will face hosting
Lee College tomorrow morning to conclude its opening weekend of the
2009 season. The Tigers travel to St. Edward's University next
Friday, before opening up at home on February 14 against the
University of Incarnate Word.
