Tigers Fall to Franklin & Marshall in Game Two

San Antonio - The Tiger baseball team finished Saturday with a doubleheader split on Saturday afternoon, as Franklin & Marshall won game two by the final of 7-5.

Trinity (9-5) took an early 2-0 lead, sparked by a leadoff homer from Johnny Baugus - his third of the year - but the Diplomats responded with a three-run second inning to take the lead.

Will Becker hit his third homer of the year in the bottom of the inning - a 400-foot shot to straightaway center - tying the game at 3-3 after two innings.

Franklin & Marshall took the lead for good with two unearned runs in the sixth, followed by a two-run double in the seventh that made it 7-3.  Trinity answered with two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but could not manage any more in the final two innings.

Becker finished 2-4 with three RBI in the game, cracking a two-run double to go with his solo homer.  Blake Holman also had two hits in the game, and Baugus finished 1-3 in game two.

Four Diplomats players finished with multi-hit games, led by a three-hit game from Dan Hanecak.

Trinity and Franklin & Marshall will conclude the three-game series on Sunday afternoon, beginning at 1:00 p.m.  The Tigers will play their fourth game in three days when they host UW-Stout at 7:00 p.m. on Monday night.
