Millsaps Sweeps Doubleheader From Tigers

San Antonio - Trinity lost the second game of today's SCAC doubleheader with Millsaps College by the final of 9-4, despite holding an early lead.

Trinity (2-4, 0-2) took a 3-2 lead after two innings when senior Johnny Baugus hit a three-run homer to left field - the first of his Tiger baseball career.

Millsaps, however, answered with a three-run inning of its own to pull ahead 5-3, and then added another run in the fourth for a 6-3 advantage.  The Tigers pushed its final run across when Bobby Zabor singled in Baugus with two outs in the inning.

The Majors added single runs in the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings for the final score.  Millsaps hammered out 13 hits in the game, and the Tigers committed five errors.

Zabor finished 2-5 with one RBI, while Baugus was 1-3 with two runs and three RBI.

Chuck Huggins (1-1) was charged with the loss for the Tigers.  Ryan Hopkins struck out four hitters in three innings.

Justin Carter finished 4-6 with two runs and one RBI for the Majors, while Hunter Abrams was 3-5 and knocked in three runs.  Garner Wetzel was 2-4 with two runs and two RBI as well.

Trinity and Millsaps conclude the SCAC weekend series with a single game tomorrow afternoon.
