six shutout innings to earn the win for the
Brewster WhiteCaps in the Cape Cod League on
Monday. Bronson walked one and allowed
just three hits in the game.

Oates Strikes Out 10 to Earn Win
for Arizona League Mariners
Former Tiger hurler Brian Oates struck out 10
batters through five innings to earn his first
minor league win on Saturday. Oates gave
up just four hits and one walk in the game,
which was only the second appearance of his
professional career.

Bronson Drafted and Oates Signs
Deal With Major League Baseball Team
Trinity's Evan Bronson was selected in the Major
League Baseball draft by the Milwaukee Brewers
last weekend, while Brian Oates signed a
contract to play in the Seattle Mariners
organization. Former Tiger pitcher Chuck
Huggins was also drafted for the second straight
year, picked by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2008.

Evan Jones Named Honorable
Mention All-American by D3baseball.com
Trinity first-baseman Evan Jones earned
distinction from D3baseball.com as an Honorable
Mention All-American for the 2008 season.
Jones hit over .402 this season, and broke the
school record with 25 doubles.

Magazine Academic All-District Honors
Tiger second baseman Jeff Claydon earned a spot
on the ESPN The Magazine Academic
All-District VI First Team. Claydon was
fourth on the team in hitting this season with a
career-best .357 batting average.

a 4-3 loss to top-ranked Chapman University on
Saturday afternoon. The Tigers advanced to
the finals at the NCAA West Region Championship,
but fell just short.

Bay to Advance at NCAA West Regionals
The Tiger baseball team beat Cal State East Bay
8-3 on Friday night, taking advantage of another
pitching gem. Brian Oates struck out 10 in
seven innings giving up three runs on just five
hits. Dylan Early hit his third homer of
the tournament to give the team a five-run
cushion late in the game.

George Fox at West Regional
Trinity's baseball team, which is seeded fifth
at the NCAA West Regional Tournament, beat No. 2
seed George Fox 8-1 in the opening game for both
teams. Evan Bronson struck out 10 in a
complete-game win, while Dylan Early hit two
home runs and drove in four for the Tiger
offense.

Four Tiger Players
Named to SCAC All-Tournament Team
After pulling off a thrilling rally in the
bottom of the ninth to win the SCAC
Championship, four members of Trinity's baseball
team were named to the SCAC All-Tournament Team.
Stosh Hoover, who delivered the game-winning hit
in the final game, was joined by Zach Fregosi,
Jeff Claydon, and Brian Oates on the team.

Trinity Baseball Scores Four in the Ninth to Win SCAC Title
The Tigers were down to their final strike before Stosh Hoover drove in two runs with a single to right center in the bottom of the ninth. Trinity was down 5-2 to begin the inning, but advanced to the NCAA playoffs with four runs and four hits.

win in 11 innings against DePauw University in
the SCAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
Trinity advances to tomorrow's SCAC Championship
game, while DePauw will play later tonight in an
elimination game.

Game at SCAC Tournament Over Millsaps
Trinity's baseball
team survived for a tough 13-9 victory over
Millsaps College at the SCAC Tournament on
Friday afternoon. The Tigers were down 5-1
at one point, but a seven-run fifth inning gave
them the lead for good.
