Head Coach Steve Mohr

Steve Mohr will begin his 20th season as head coach of the Trinity Tigers in 2009. 

Over the past 19 years, his Tigers have posted a record of 153-56.  Coach Mohr has established himself as the most successful coach coach in school history, in total victories (153) and winning percentage (.732).

Coach Mohr's record also stands at 78-21 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, giving him a winning percentage of .788 during his career.

His Trinity teams have captured 14 SCAC Championships in 16 seasons, and have advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs 11 times since 1994.  Coach Mohr has coached 23 All-America players and 14 SCAC Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Year.

Trinity also garnered national attention in 2007, executing a 15-lateral play - the "Trinity Miracle" play - to beat Millsaps College and earn the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year award.  The award earned the school over $100,000 towards the general scholarship fund, and also secured an ESPY Award nomination for the Tigers from ESPN.

Under Coach Mohr's leadership, the Tigers have produced a 143-26 record over the past 15 seasons, an .846 winning percentage, which is ranked second among Division III schools during that span.

In 2002, the Tigers advanced to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, the Division III National Championship game in Salem, Virginia.  Trinity has also played in the national semifinals three times (1998, 1999, and 2002).

Respected by his peers, Coach Mohr has been named the SCAC Coach of the Year on 10 occasions, with the most recent being 2007.  He has received four GTE Regional coach of the Year awards, as selected by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). 

Coach Mohr has been named Division III National Coach of the Year by three organizations, including the Football Gazette in 2002.  He was selected as the 1998 Division III National Coach of the Year by the American Football Gazette, as well as by CBSsportsline.com.

Prior to joining the Trinity staff in 1990, Coach Mohr was an assistant varsity football and head junior varsity baseball coach at Ithaca College in New York, from 1985-1989.  The Bombers reached the Division III football semifinals three times and won the national title in 1988.  Ithaca was national runner-up in 1985.

Coach Mohr served as an assistant varsity football coach and head baseball coach at the University of Findlay in Ohio, from 1976-1984.  Findlay captured the NAIA Division II football title in 1979 and was runner-up in 1978.

He earned a bachelor's degree in health and physical eduation from Denison University in 1976, and a master's in education from Bowling Green State University in 1977.  As a student-athlete at Denison, Coach Mohr lettered in baseball, basketball, football, and golf.

Coach Mohr and his wife, Jill, reside in San Antonio with their daughter, Molly.

Stew Krisch will begin his 12th overall season with the Trinity football team, as well as eighth since returning to the Tigers in 2002. 

Coach Krisch was previously the offensive coordinator for the team from 1996-99.  He was the quarterbacks coach at Texas State University-San Marcos (then known as Southwest Texas State) in 2000 and 2001. 

Prior to joining Trinity’s staff in 1996, Coach Krisch was the offensive coordinator at West Texas A&M University for four seasons, leading the team to 50 school records and 12 NCAA records.

During his tenure with the Tigers, Coach Krisch has helped lead the offense to numerous school and conference records. 

A native of San Antonio, he graduated from Marshall High School in 1980, and went on to play for the Texas A&M football team.  Coach Krisch graduated with a degree in industrial education in 1984, and earned his master’s - also in industrial education - in 1985 while serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Aggies. 

Mike Inco enters his 14th overall season with the Tigers, and will begin his fifth year as the team’s defensive coordinator.  He is now coaching his 11th consecutive year with Trinity, having also been an assistant during the 1990 and 1991 seasons. 

With his leadership, the "Black Flag defense" has enjoyed a great deal of success.  In 2006, Trinity’s pass defense was the top-ranked unit in all divisions of the NCAA, and it was also the 22nd-ranked overall defense in Division III.  The team allowed just 11.7 points/game, which was also top 15 in the nation.

Coach Inco also was the defensive coordinator at San Antonio’s Kennedy High School from 1992-1997, and is currently a teacher at Memorial High School. 

He began his coaching career at Hobart (NY) College in 1980.  From 1981-88, Coach Inco was a linebackers coach with his alma mater, Ithaca (NY) College. 

He was also a starting linebacker for the Bombers in his final two seasons, and earned his bachelor’s degree in health and education from Ithaca in 1979.

Coach Inco and his wife, Mary, reside in San Antonio with their son, Michael.

Jason Guthrie is in his seventh season as an assistant coach with the Trinity football team.

Prior to becoming a coach at Trinity, he coached high school football for seven years in Tennessee. 

Notably, Coach Guthrie was the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Brentwood High School for three seasons.  The Bruins won the state championship during his final year.  Brentwood racked up a 29-7 record during Coach Guthrie's tenure, and averaged better than 30 points per game.

Coach Guthrie earned a bachelor's degree in history and education from Kentucky Wesleyan University in 1998.  He received his master’s in education leadership from Trinity in 2006.

In addition to his coaching duties, Coach Guthrie serves as the co-sponsor of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Assistant Coach Brant McAdams
Linebackers

Brant McAdams is in his second season as a Trinity assistant coach.

Coach McAdams played defensive end for the Tigers from 2002-2005 and in addition to being the team captain during his senior year, he was also 2nd Team All-SCAC in 2005.

The Tigers made four NCAA playoff appearances and won four SCAC Championships and four NCAA Playoff appearances while Coach McAdams was a student-athlete, and posted a 40-7 record during that time.

Coach McAdams received a bachelor's degree in history from Trinity in 2006, as well as a minor in physical education.

Following graduation, Coach McAdams attended graduate school at the University of Redlands (CA).  He served as the Bulldogs video coordinator and a recruiting coach, as well as coaching the defensive line. He helped the 2007 team to the SCIAC Championship and a berth in the postseason.

Coach Dawson earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado.  He is also a member of both the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA).

Michalak coached at the Alex Brown Football Camp in 2007 and 2008, and also worked the inaugural Devin Hester Football in 2008.

Defensive Backs

Grenier was the starting cornerback for the Tigers this past season, finishing 10th on the team in total tackles.  He was also seventh in solo tackles in 2008.  Grenier was also one of just five players to record both an interception and a fumble recovery last year, and was tied for fourth in interceptions.
