Tigers Fall to Schreiner to Finish Friday's Action

Longview, Texas - The Trinity softball team finished off the first day of action at the LeTourneau Tournament with a 10-1 loss to Schreiner University on Friday evening.

Trinity (2-8) scored just one run on eight hits, though all eight hits were singles.  The Tigers fell behind after a three-run third inning by Schreiner, and the Mountaineers scored in each inning after that, ending the game with a run-rule after scoring four times in the sixth.

Kate Wright and Rachel Garrett cracked two hits each for the Tigers, and Garrett scored the team's only run, which came in the top of the sixth inning.  Wright drove in the lone run for Trinity.

Caitlin Richards was 1-3 in the game, giving her three hits for the day at the tournament.  Alexa Calderon was 1-2 for Trinity.

The Tigers will face the University of Texas-Tyler and Howard Payne University to finish off the tournament tomorrow afternoon.
