DePauw Defeats Rhodes to Win
SCAC Championship on Sunday Afternoon
The DePauw Tigers won the
SCAC Softball Championship for the second straight season on Sunday
afternoon, defeating Rhodes College 8-0 in five innings. Megan
Soultz won her third game of the tournament, pitching a one-hit shutout
in today's championship game. Carolyn Bartlett was 2-2 with two
runs and two RBI for DePauw, while Emma Minx also had a pair of hits.

Rhodes Wins Third Game of the
Day to Advance to Championship Game
The Rhodes College Lynx
earned a spot in the SCAC Championship with their third win of the day,
defeating Hendrix College 4-1 to finish off the second day of action at
the SCAC Softball Tournament. Rebekah Moore was 3-3 with two RBI,
while Sara Bowen also drove in two runs for the Lynx. Jaclyn
Herrera led Hendrix with a 2-2 performance at the plate, but she was
charged with the loss, giving up three unearned runs in three innings.

Rhodes Turns in its Second
Shutout of the Day to Eliminate Southwestern
The Rhodes College Lynx
turned in another solid performance on Saturday afternoon, defeating
Southwestern University 2-0 to advance in the SCAC Softball
Championships. Allison Conn and Sara Bowen had two hits each,
while Chelsea Peters pitched a three-hit shutout to lead Rhodes to the
win. Blair Wallace had two of Southwestern's three hits.

DePauw Shuts Out Hendrix on
Saturday, Advancing to SCAC Title Game
The DePauw University Tigers
took a 6-0 win over Hendrix College on Saturday afternoon, advancing to
tomorrow's SCAC Championship game. Hendrix will face either
Southwestern or Hendrix for the chance to play DePauw on Sunday.
Megan Soultz earned her second win of the tournament, striking out seven
hitters. Chelsy Patterson, Brianne Weeks, Emma Minx, and Rachel
Gill had two hits each. Liz Vaughan gave up just three earned runs
for Hendrix, also collecting two hits.

Rhodes Blanks Hosting Trinity
in Extra Innnings to Advance at Softball Championships
Rhodes College defeated
hosting Trinity University 4-0 in eight innings to move on in the SCAC
Softball Championship Tournament on Saturday. Rhodes scored four
runs in the top of the eighth to break open a game that was scoreless
through regulation. Sara Bowen earned the win for Lynx, pitching a
four-hit shutout and driving in two runs with an eighth-inning double.

Southwestern Eliminates
Millsaps to Open Second Day of SCAC Softball Championships
The Southwestern Pirates
defeated Millsaps College 4-2 in the first elimination game of the SCAC
Softball Championship Tournament at Trinity University.
Southwestern's Kaitlyn Pavlicek earned the complete-game victory,
striking out five batters and allowing just two runs. The Pirates
will face the winner of the next game between Rhodes and Trinity.

DePauw Downs Trinity to Finish
First Day of SCAC Softball Tournament
The DePauw University Tigers
defeated hosting Trinity University in the final game of the opening day
of the SCAC Softball Tournament on Friday. DePauw scored three
unearned runs in the game, including a pair of insurance runs in the
bottom of the sixth. Trinity broke up the shutout in the seventh,
but couldn't manage more than a single run.

Hendrix Upsets Top West Seed
Southwestern at SCAC Tournament
Hendrix College won for the
second time at the SCAC Championships on Friday, defeating SCAC West
Division top seed Southwestern University 4-3 in San Antonio. Sara
Hunter drove in a pair of runs for the Warriors, while Hanna Braden was
2-3 at the plate. Elizabeth Vaughan earned her second complete
game win, improving to 12-3 on the year.

Hosting Trinity Defeats

Championship Tournament on Friday afternoon. Rachel Garrett went
4-5 with three runs scored, while Karen MacPherson also snagged three
hits for the Tigers. Brittany Losey improved to 11-8 on the season
with her complete-game victory.

Hendrix Opens SCAC Softball
Tournament With Win Over Rhodes on Friday
The Hendrix College Warriors,
the SCAC West Division's # 3 seed, defeated East Division # 2 seed
Rhodes College Lynx 7-2 to open up the SCAC Softball Tournament on
Friday afternoon. Elizabeth Vaughan improved to 11-3 for the
Warriors, while Jaclyn Herrera and Christina Byler both hit home runs.
For Rhodes, Sara Bowen struck out 11 batters.
