Trinity
Women Finish Season Ranked 16th in the Nation The
Trinity Women's Swimming & Diving Team wrapped up the 2008-2009 season
with a 16th place finish at the NCAA Championship meet in Minneapolis,
MN. Lindsay Martin and Hayley Emerick's All-American performances
scored a combined 59 points leading the Lady Tigers to their top 20
finish.

| Swimming & Diving Battles Breaks 1000 Freestyle Record on way to
17th Place Finish in the 1650 First-year
swimmer Andrew Battles from Colleyville, TX once again set a new school
record in the 1000 yard freestyle on Saturday at the 2009 NCAA
Championship Meet. Battles first broke the record, which was
previously held by All-American Ryan Van Der Kar, at the 2009 SCAC Championship
Meet in Nashville, TN.

Trinity Divers Among Best in the Country Junior
diver Lindsay Martin of Longview, TX and sophomore diver Hayley Emerick
of Portland, TX ended their seasons with one of the most impressive NCAA
meets in team history. Emerick placed 3rd on the 3-meter and 6th
on the 1-meter while Martin finished 5th on the 3-meter and 3rd on the
1-meter. Trinity was the only school in the meet with two divers
finishing in the top 8 on both boards.

Martin, Emerick, Miranda and Battles Selected to Compete at NCAA
Championships Four Trinity
swimmers and divers have been selected to compete at the 2009 NCAA
Swimming and Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota March
18 - 21. Two-time All-American sophomore Hayley Emerick and junior
Lindsay Martin were selected to compete in the 1 and 3-meter diving
events which will take place on Wednesday March 18 and Friday March 20.
First-year swimmer Mario "Alex" Miranda will compete in the 200 yard
butterfly while fellow first-year teammate Andrew Battles will compete
in the 1650 freestyle.

Provisional Cuts Nine Trinity
athletes posted NCAA provisional standards at the 2009 SCAC Championship
Meet. Divers Hayley Emerick, Lindsay Martin, and Kevin Martin
reached the NCAA qualifying standard in one or more events
along with swimmers Lindsay Weigley, Raelle
Smiley, Graham Mullings, Mario "Alex" Miranda, Zachary Dielmann and
Andrew Battles. Official entries will be posted in mid-March.

Hayley Emerick
Named SCAC Diver of the Year For the
second straight year, sophomore Hayley Emerick led the conference in
diving, finishing first on both the 1 and 3-meter boards setting school,
meet and conference records along the way. Emerick broke her own
school, meet and conference records on night one of the meet with a
score of 489.95 on the 1-meter board. Friday night's performance
followed in the same fashion when Emerick crushed her previous meet
record on the 3-meter board posting a score of 530.40.

Results
Trinity Women Win Sixth Straight SCAC Title; Men Finish Second
The Tiger Women won their sixth consecutive
SCAC Conference Title over the weekend in Nashville, Tennessee while the
men finished in the runner-up position. Highlights for the Tigers
included Hayley Emerick's first place finishes and record setting
performances on the 1 and 3-meter boards, Raelle Smiley's school record
in the 1000 freestyle, Mario "Alex" Miranda's first place finishes and
record setting performances in the 500 freestyle and 200 butterfly, as
well as Andrew Battles' record shattering first place finish in the 1650
freestyle.

of the Week First-year swimmer
Andrew Battles and junior diver Lindsay Martin were awarded conference
honors for their outstanding performances at the UIW Spring Invite on
Jan. 23 and 24. Battles posted conference best times in the 500
freestyle (4:46.11), 1000 freestyle (9:55.62), and 1650 freestyle
(16:24.41) while Martin finished first on both the 1 and 3-meter boards.
Martin finished ahead of three D-II divers in both events and reached an NCAA
qualifying score on the 1-meter.

Tiger Men & Women Finish 2nd at UIW Spring Invite; Post Conference
Best Times Trinity's Men &
Women's Swimming & Diving Teams ended their duel meet season with an
impressive showing at the Incarnate Word Spring Invite. Senior
Alison Gizinski and junior Lindsay Martin led the women with first place
finishes in one or more of their individual events while junior Graham
Mullings and first-year Kevin Martin led the men's team with first place
finishes. In addition, first-years Andrew Battles and Mario
Miranda posted conference best times in one or more of their individual
events.

Trinity Women Sweep Weekly Conference Honors First-year Raelle
Smiley of Austin, TX and sophomore Hayley Emerick of Portland, TX were
named SCAC Swimmer and Diver of the Week for their efforts over the
weekend. Smiley finished first in the 1000 freestyle and posted a
season best time with her second place finish in the 500 freestyle.
Emerick finished first on the 1 and 3-meter boards reaching NCAA
qualifying scores in both events for the second time this season.

University of the Incarnate Word on Friday night in Hixon Natatorium.

Trinity Tigers Swim to Victory Over Principia Panthers Trinity's Swimming
& Diving Teams improved their duel meet record to 4-0 with a win over Principia
College (MO) on Tuesday night in Hixon Natatorium. Individual
event winners for the Tigers included Hayley Emerick, Maria Lopez, Renee
Ulrich, Jenny Zeberlein, Leigh Anne Ladymon, Mary West, Graham Mullings,
Zach Dielmann, Mario Miranda, Aaron Shaver and Kevin Martin.

SCAC Honors Andrew Battles, Hayley Emerick and
Kevin Martin The Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference has awarded
Swimmer and Diver-of-the-Week Honors to three
Tiger athletes as a result of their performances
at the Trinity Western Shootout Invitational.
First-year Andrew Battles posted first place
finishes and conference best times in the 500
(4:46.55) and 1650 freestyle races (16:39.97).
His 1000 split in the mile (10:05.39) is also a
conference best time. Sophomore Hayley
Emerick won both the 1-meter (460.70) and
3-meter (493.20) diving events while first-year
Kevin Martin also placed first on both the
1-meter (458.05) and 3-meter (402.65) boards.

Tigers Post Top Times in Conference at Trinity Western
Shootout Invitational The Trinity Men's &
Women's Swimming & Diving Teams competed in the Trinity Western
Shootout Invitational in Southlake, TX on November 21-22. The Lady
Tigers finished second and the men finished third overall at the meet, which was
comprised of nine D-I, D-II and D-III schools. Hayley Emerick, Andrew Battles, Mario Miranda and Kevin Martin all
posted conference best times and first place finishes in one or more of their individual events.
The Tigers will be back in action when they host Principia College (MO)
in Hixon Natatorium on December 2.

awarded Diver-of-the-Week honors to two Trinity
divers. Sophomore Hayley Emerick of Portland,
TX and first-year Kevin Martin of Corpus
Christi, TX were selected for for their
performances in team victories over Southwestern
University and Austin College on Saturday
November 15. Emerick's scores have her
ranked first in current conference standings on
both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.

and Austin College in a tri-meet on Saturday in
Georgetown, TX. Graham Mullings, Chris
Cavin, Mario Miranda, Andrew Battles, and Kevin
Martin led the men's team to victory with wins
in their respective events while Lindsay
Weigley, Maria Lopez, Hayley Emerick and Raelle
Smiley led the Lady Tigers with first place
finishes. Look for the Tigers in
Southlake, TX this weekend at the Trinity
Western Shootout Invitational.

Martin and Bettinger Named SCAC
Divers-of-the-Week The Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference has named
first-year divers Kevin Martin of Corpus
Christi, TX and Lynne Bettinger of Albuquerque,
NM men's and women's Divers-of-the-Week based on
outstanding performances from over the weekend.
Both divers opened their collegiate diving
careers with wins on the 1-meter board against McMurry University.

Men & Women Open Season With Wins at McMurry The Tigers opened
their 2008-09 duel meet season with wins against
McMurry University on Saturday in Abilene, TX.
Junior Graham Mullings and first-year Mario
Miranda were both double-event winners leading
the men to a 141-70 victory. First-year
Raelle Smiley led the women's team to a 143-68
triumph with wins in the 100 and 200 freestyles.
The Tigers will open SCAC competition this
weekend at Southwestern University.

First-year Andrew Battles Leads Trinity Men to ASA 5k
Open Water Title First-year Andrew
Battles from Colleyville, TX led the Trinity men to
the American Swimming Association Open Water
Swimming Collegiate National Championship Title
on Saturday November 1. Battles finished
the 5k event in 1 hour 7 seconds.
First-year Raelle Smiley from Austin, TX was the
top finisher for the Trinity women who finished
second behind Division I Rice University in the
team standings.

Seniors Compete in
13th Annual St. Croix Coral Reef Swim
Senior captains
Andrew Shane, Thomas Spickler, Alison Gizinski,
Sonya Karbach and Lindsay Weigley took part in
the 13th Annual St. Croix Coral Reef Swim in the
United States Virgin Islands over the weekend.
Shane finished second overall in the 2-mile
event while all three women finished in the top
10 in the solo female category of the 5-mile
swim. Spickler finished 13th in the solo
male category of the 5-mile swim.

SCAC Championship; Men's Team Finishes Second The 2008 SCAC Swimming &
Diving Championships ended the same way they have each of the previous
four seasons, with Trinity's women and DePauw's men clinching their
fifth straight titles on Saturday night. Trinity swept top diving
honors as Hayley Emerick and Ryan Cook were named SCAC Divers of the
Meet, while DePauw took both SCAC Swimmer of the Meet awards with Katie
Doogan and Robert Alexander.

of Women's 1-M Diving Finals; Emerick Breaks Event Record Trinity's diving team swept
the top five spots at the 1-meter diving finals on Saturday afternoon,
and first-year Hayley Emerick won her second event by breaking another
record with 475.40 points. Trinity's Lindsay Martin and Lauren
Walstad finished second and third, respectively, and both divers posted
scores that would have broken the record that Walstad set at last year's
championships.

Pictures Trinity Women in First, Trinity Men
in Second Following Friday's Finals The second full day of SCAC
swimming & diving competition ended at the 2008 Championships on Friday,
with the same two teams still leading the respective meets.
Trinity's women hold a lead of nearly 100 points over DePauw, finishing
the second day with 613.5 points - compared to 522.5 points for DePauw.
In the men's race for the title, DePauw has scored 622.5 points, to a
total of 602 points by Trinity. Centre is third in both meets.

Results Trinity's Ryan Cook Wins the
Men's 3-Meter Diving Event Friday The SCAC men's 3-meter diving
saw Trinity's Ryan Cook win the event with a score of 519.30 on Friday
afternoon. Cook also won the 1-meter diving final on Wednesday
night. Hunter Hayes of Centre was second, while Trinity's Travis
Mills was third, which was the same three divers that earned All-SCAC
honors in the 1-meter final.

Results Women's 3-Meter Diving
Finishes With Trinity Setting Another Record Trinity swept the top five
spots in the women's 3-meter diving event on Thursday afternoon, with
first-year Hayley Emerick taking the top spot with a new SCAC
Championships record of 496.05 points. Emerick beat out senior
teammate Lauren Walstad, who is the two-time defending SCAC Diver of the
Year. Walstad finished second, followed by Lindsay Martin of
Trinity.

Championships. The finals will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m.
this evening. Women's 3-meter diving is underway, and will be the
second event to be finished at this year's meet. DePauw's women's
200 freestyle relay team made the NCAA B cut and DePauw's Maddison Hamil
also earned a provisional qualifying time in the 50 free. Centre's
Meredith Angel won this morning's 50 free prelim for the third
provisional qualifier of the day.

Trinity's Ryan Cook Wins Opening Event in Record-Breaking Fashion Trinity All-American Ryan Cook
won the 1-meter diving to open the 2008 SCAC Championships Meet on Wednesday
night, breaking the SCAC record in the event. Cook was the 2005 SCAC
Diver of the Year as a first-year competitor. Centre's Hunter Hayes
was second, while Trinity's Travis Mills took third.

California this weekend, facing Claremont on
