Trinity Shines in Shutout Win Over Oglethorpe

Trinity, ranked third in Division III by both the NSCAA and D3soccer.com, remains undefeated at 13-0 and 6-0 in the SCAC.

Kelly Watts tied a school-record with four assists in the game, which was last accomplished against Oglethorpe in 2007.  Watts, who now has six assists this season, also scored a goal early in the second half.

Abigail Loar scored three goals for her first career hat trick - the first of which came just 20 seconds into the game.  Loar's opening goal was one of the fastest goals in NCAA Division III women's soccer history to start a game, beating all but 20 previous goals.  The record for the quickest goal to start a game is six seconds.

Loar becomes the first Tiger player to score three goals in a game since a pair of Trinity players did so in 2007. 

Young was one of those players, and she nearly had another hat trick in today's game.  Young scored two goals and three assists in the game, knocking in a goal for the ninth consecutive game for the Tigers.

Kristina Chen and Alex Leamy also scored for the Tigers, and Leamy also picked up an assist.

Trinity continues its SCAC campaign Sunday in Sewanee, Tenn., with a 1 p.m. game against Sewanee: The University of the South.
