M. S. in Accounting - Requirements

The requirements for full admission to the program include:

Senior standing as an undergraduate student, or a baccalaureate degree.

Completion of six undergraduate Accounting classes (ACCT 1301, 1302, 3341, 3342, 3343, and 4344) and two business law courses (BUSN 3302 and 3341 or their equivalent with acceptable grades). Students who do not have an undergraduate business degree will need one additional business course to meet CPA exam requirements

A grade point average of 3.00 or better on the last 60 hours of undergraduate level work and an average of 3.00 or better in the undergraduate major.  

Acceptable scores not more than six years old on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).

Two letters of recommendation regarding the applicant's character, motivation, and intellectual ability.

Students who do not meet the requirements for unconditional acceptance may be considered for acceptance on a provisional basis.

All applicants who complete their application requirements by February 1 will automatically be considered for the twelve graduate assistantships that are awarded each year.  Selections are based on academic merit.  Federally-funded loan programs are available to all U.S. students according to federal guidelines.  Information can be obtained by calling the Trinity University Financial Aid Office at (210) 999-8315.
