Reading TUgether
Many universities
offer summer reading programs, specifically targeted for first year
students to begin their college career with a common literary
experience. This summer, Trinity University will expand this
program to encompass the entire Trinity community with Reading
TUgether.

Three
Cups of Tea: One Man’s Mission to Promote Peace One School at a Time
By Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin
A
New York Times Bestseller, the book details Greg
Mortenson’s journey after a failed 1993 climb on Pakistan’s K2 and
his dedication to promote community-based education and literacy
programs, especially for girls, in remote mountain regions of
Pakistan and Afghanistan. A military veteran, avid mountaineer,
trained ER nurse, and now executive director of a non-profit
organization, his story is aligned with one of Trinity’s key values
of having “a serious commitment to respond to the opportunities and
needs of society and self; which are the true marks of a liberally
educated person” (Common Curriculum).
