Trinity has a staggered move-in schedule determined by your residence hall assignment.  Click on the Move-In link on the left for detailed information regarding the entire check-in process.

Remember, Check-In is a two step process for all First Year students.  Once your belongings are in your new room, head over to the Bell Athletic Center immediately.

Muslim Children’s Educational & Civic Center

Your Resident Mentor will designate, in advance, a location for this quick meeting.  Members of the Gray group will receive instructions on where to reconnect with their RM just prior to their 4:45 p.m. advising session.  Members of the Maroon group will depart with their Resident Mentor for their advising session following this meeting.

The Maroon group will meet with their Faculty Advisor at this time.  Your Faculty Advisor will explain the registration process, discuss placement exams, review your academic records individually, and set an appointment for your individual advising time that will occur on Monday, August 25.

The Gray group will take a quick tour of campus with a member of the O-Team.  He/she will highlight key landmarks on campus, as well as, locations of future NSO events.  Afterwards, you will have some free time to continue setting up your room.  The O-Team member will escort your group back to upper campus to meet up with your RM and Faculty Advisor.

Worship and gather together with community members and students.  Both a classical reform service and a less formal guitar service are held concurrently, led by Rabbis Block and Bergman Vann, respectively.  Temple Beth-El has worship services and activities open to all.  Temple Beth-El San Antonio is located at 211 Belknap Place (near the corner of Ashby and San Pedro). Computing Skills Assessment

The Computer Skills Assessment determines whether or not you will place out of the University's Computer Skills requirement.  The exam will evaluate your computing skills with text, numbers, communication, information retrieval, graphics, computer concepts and ethics.

You will need your TigerCard for this exam.

Computer Science

Computer Science is the systematic study of algorithmic processes that describe and transform information. Such study includes the theory, analysis, design, efficiency, implementation and application of algorithms. The Computer Science Department provides a state of the art foundation of principles, skills, knowledge and creativity for the development of liberally educated computer scientists of the highest quality. The Computer Science program is designed to provide an appropriate mix of current technology and theory as well as challenge the majors to think critically and communicate effectively.

This is an opportunity to meet professors informally, hear a brief description of course offerings and suggestions for course planning, and ask questions about programs, including the five year Master of Arts in Teaching program.

This meeting will introduce students to the Engineering Science Department.  Topics to be discussed include the engineering profession, the Engineering Science curriculum, academic activities, summer internships, and job opportunities with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science.

Health Professions

The meeting for students interested in the health professions serves to provide information about what courses to take in the first semester, to discuss admission requirements of health professions' schools, to present strategies for developing a track record that will lead to admission to health profession graduate programs, and to create an information network that will be useful for Trinity pre-health professional students.  Bring your questions and concerns to this working meeting.

Law school applications have increased dramatically over the past two years, and the competition for admittance is very high.  While law schools are not concerned with specific majors, they do place a great deal of emphasis on the overall performance of applicants including internships, work experience, community service, evidence of a commitment to law, intellectual discipline, analytical skills, research and writing skills, oral skills, and time management.  Dr. John Hermann will address these issues and suggest strategies for successful applications to law school.

* Required for all students intending to continue their study of language or attempt to satisfy the University language requirement

These exams are used to place students out of language classes or into the appropriate course level.  Students with previous study of Arabic, Russian or Ancient Greek, those with more than four years of study in a given language, and native speakers of the language, should speak with a language professor before registering for courses in that language.

Murchison Tower Plaza

The Tower Climb is one of Trinity's longest standing traditions.  Join your fellow classmates in climbing the Murchison Tower and shaking hands with President Brazil at the top.  The Tower Climb will be a capstone experience for you upon graduation so don't miss the opportunity to start your Trinity career as you will end it.
