New Student Orientation

Advising Explained

All our new students are placed in advising groups of between nine to twelve students. Each group is assigned a resident mentor (an upper-class student) and a faculty advisor (a professor). During orientation, the resident mentor guides the students to planned activities and accompanies them through the first registration process. In fact, these resident mentors will maintain contact with their groups throughout the entire academic year. Faculty advisors will meet with students prior to registration each semester and at other times when needed. The faculty advisor serves as an important resource in dealing with the student's academic life at Trinity University.
