The Program

The program at Trinity consists of four separate majors: Greek, Latin, Classical Languages, and Ancient Mediterranean Studies (known campus-wide as AMS).

AMS is our most popular major. This major combines the the history, art, culture, and literature of the ancient world into a cohesive intellectual enterprise. Because of the major's breadth, courses from a variety of departments count towards the AMS major, making it easy to combine the study of the classical world with another major. In fact, over half of our majors graduate with additional degrees in fields such a biology, business, or English, and continue to law schools, medical schools, graduate schools, or careers in business.

In addition, Trinity is the only school in San Antonio to offer a full degree program in both ancient languages, and we're proud to graduate students who can tackle Plato and Cicero with the best of 'em.
