Title: Instructional Support Manager

Department: AT&T Center for Learning & Technology (CLT)

Reports To: Director, CLT

Summary of Responsibilities

This position will assist faculty by providing training and support for the integration of educational technology into the curriculum. The successful candidate will work with a broad range of hardware, software, multimedia and learning systems including, Moodle, Blackboard, and will be responsible for the CLT web site.

Specific Duties

  • Plans and implements the University’s transition to a new course management system, Moodle.
  • Provides second-tier Help Desk support for problems and issues related to this position's areas of expertise and responsibility.
  • Provides training and support for faculty in the planning, design, and implementation of web-enhanced instruction, educational multimedia, and the effective integration of technology into the traditional classroom setting.
  • Designs, develops, and conducts workshops for faculty on the effective use of instructional hardware and software and the operation of electronic and computer classrooms.
  • Consults with faculty to determine instructional technology needs for a more effective learning environment.
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with faculty to support technology integration into the curriculum.
  • Keeps up-to-date on current developments in instructional technology software and hardware and instructional design theories as they relate to higher education.
  • Reviews and monitors the CLT website and makes appropriate additions and enhancements.
  • Serves on University committees related to the use of instructional technology.

Educational Requirements

Master’s degree required, preferably in an appropriate instructional technology field. Additional training and education given extra consideration.

Experience

  • Experience with course management software, such as Moodle and Blackboard.
  • Ability to provide individual and group instruction in the use of software, including web-based applications.
  • Experience creating and maintaining web sites.
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows and Macintosh environments as well as open-source applications.
  • Teaching experience is desirable.
