The Sid W. Richardson Communications Center houses faculty-directed media operations: KRTU, a 24-hour jazz and alternative music and news FM radio station operated by an all-student management team and staff; a newsroom serving journalism courses and the radio station; a master control center with a fully-equipped television studio serving television production courses and the TigerTV station, a student-staffed campus cable television operation; a fiber optic remote television production unit staffed by a student production team which telecasts special events to San Antonio. The Center is maintained and supervised by a full-time operations manager.
