McLean Hall

Verna McLean Hall is located on the east side of campus near the south campus recreation area and across the parking lot from the Bell Athletic Center.  McLean is an upperclass hall. McLean, located near Mabee Dining Hall, is popular because of its quiet atmosphere, private balconies, and modern facilities.

McLean Hall amenities include:
  • An ice machine located on the first floor, and vending machines on the second and third floors,
  • Kitchens with microwaves located on each floor,
  • Laundry rooms located on the first, second, and third floors,
  • Study lounges on every floor--two on the second, third and fourth floors,
  • Access to the McLean roof, equipped with a deck and patio equipment.
  • McLean Hall is a "wet" hall, which means that residents over age 21 may possess and consume beer or wine in their rooms.

McLean rooms feature:
  • Gray walls with bluish-gray carpet, although several rooms have red brick walls,
  • Built-in desks with six small drawers and four adjustable shelves above,
  • Large walk-in closets with a four-drawer dresser and hanging rods with a shelf above for each resident. Closet organizers are also useful to help organize also,
  • Temperature control for each individual room,
  • Private balconies for corner rooms and shared wall-mate balconies for all other rooms.

McLean bathrooms feature:
  • Partitioned areas--one for the shower, one for the toilet, and one for the sink area,
  • Drawers and cabinet space below the sinks.
