Even among a student body as civic-minded as Trinity’s, religion and
sociology major Allison Lanza ’05 is truly exceptional. As an active member and
director of the Trinity University Volunteer Action Community, Allison worked
more than 7,000 hours in San Antonio’s homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and
schools. She coordinated several service and fundraising events on campus,
including the OXFAM Hunger Banquet. She also made the Dean’s List four times,
served as a peer tutor in several first-year religion classes, presented a
paper at the Annual American Sociological Conference, and attended the American
Academy of Religion Conference. In recognition of her achievements, the Trinity
Alumni Association recognized her with its 2005 Outstanding Service to the Community
Award. She plans to pursue a master’s degree in divinity and a career in social
justice ministry. |
