The son of Jewish immigrants, raised in Mexico, fluent in English, French, Hebrew, Spanish, and Yiddish, Daniel Lubetzky ’90 was a
born multi-culturalist. But it was at Trinity that his interest in
international affairs began to point to something bigger. After a study-abroad
experience in Israel, he wrote his senior thesis on how commerce might provide
solutions to the Arab-Israeli conflict. On a subsequent visit, he convinced an
Israeli food processor to make his sun-dried tomato pesto with ingredients from
Egypt and Turkey, and PeaceWorks was born. PeaceWorks now markets “Moshe &
Ali” pesto and other similarly produced foodstuffs in over 5,000 retail
outlets. Daniel has addressed the U.N. and the World Bank and has been named
one of the World Economic Forum’s 100 Global Leaders of Tomorrow. |
