Lora Watts ’79 typifies the kind of personal and professional
success for which Trinity prepares its students. After graduating magna cum
laude, she went to work for Southwestern Bell in San Antonio. Her talent and
preparation were immediately apparent. She learned almost every aspect of the
business, holding leadership positions in finance, public affairs, sales,
marketing, and human resources. In 2001 she became SBC’s President-External
Affairs, responsible for all statewide regulatory, legislative, governmental,
and external affairs activities for California and Nevada. Watts also serves on
the boards of several professional and charitable organizations, including the
California Chamber of Commerce and Operation HOPE, and for four years running
has been named one of “The Most Influential Women in the Bay Area” by the San
Francisco Business Times. |
