Manuel “Manny” Pelaez ’97 discovered both his vocation and
his avocation at Trinity. He began as a pre-med student, but his mentoring
relationship with business law professor Clayton Trotter led him to change his
focus to pre-law. “Professor Trotter is one of the few remaining gentleman
lawyers,” he says. “Think Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird.” Manny
is also a stand-up comedian, a talent he developed at Trinity as a member of
The Crystal Lemmings improv troupe. Today he is senior counsel for Toyota—the youngest person ever to hold that position at the company—and continues to
perform regularly at local comedy clubs. |
