Seeing film in San Antonio
Most of the theaters in San Antonio show mainstream Hollywood films, but there are a few theaters that occasionally show non-Hollywood movies, including the Bijou and the Alamo Drafthouse.
During the summer, Texas Public Radio hosts the Cinema Tuesdays series, featuring classic films presented in 35mm prints.
Slab Cinema programs the Movies by Moonlight series, which screens at HemisFair Park, and the Cinemundo series, which screens at the Main Plaza.
San Antonio hosts several film festivals, the largest of which is the San Antonio Film Festival.
You can also see films at various other cultural venues, such as the San Antonio Public Library and the Guadelupe Cultural Arts Center.
