Is the Trinity Academic Grant Renewable?The Trinity Academic Grant is renewable if the student maintains satisfactory academic progress and full-time (12 hours+) enrollment.

Are Trinity merit scholarships renewable?The Trinity Scholarship, Trustees', President's, Trinity Renewable Scholarship, and Murchison's scholarships are renewable for up to eight semesters of undergraduate study. The student must maintain full-time (12 hours+) enrollment and an overall Trinity GPA of 3.0.

How do I apply for Federal Work-Study (FWS)?To apply for FWS, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are eligible and if FWS funds are available, you will be awarded FWS. For first year students, if you accept the FWS award, your employment paperwork will be mailed to you during the summer months. Reminder: Proper identification is required to complete necessary Trinity employment documents. The two most commonly accepted forms of identification are a Driver's License and an original Social Security Card.

Is the FWS award credited toward my Trinity student account?The FWS award at Trinity is not credited to your student account to offset tuition charges. The award amount indicates the maximum amount a student worker can earn during the academic year.

How can my earnings from my work-study job be spent?You may spend your FWS earnings as you wish. You will receive a paycheck every two weeks for the FWS hours you have worked.

What are the interest rates on loans?The Federal Perkins loan has a fixed 5% interest rate. The Federal Stafford (subsidized and unsubsidized) loan has a variable interest rate, which is adjusted every July 1 and capped at 8.25% (currently under 4%). The Federal PLUS loan has a variable interest rate, which is adjusted every July 1 and capped at 9% (currently under 5%). The College Access Loan (CAL) loan has a simple interest rate of 5.25%. The Alternative loan has a loan variable interest rate, currently around 6-7%.

I was awarded a PLUS loan, what is this and how do I apply for this loan?The Federal PLUS loan is a loan available to parents of undergraduate students. It is a credit worthy loan. A parent may borrow up to the cost of attendance, minus any other financial aid awarded to the student. A list of available lenders is provided to assist your parent in choosing a lender. Your parent can contact the lender to request pre-approval and a PLUS loan application. The PLUS loan application must be returned to the Office of Financial Aid.

If I will be receiving external scholarships, prepaid tuition plans, employer reimbursements or VA benefits, should I contact the Office of Financial Aid?Yes. Any external awards not awarded by Trinity must be reported to the Office of Financial Aid. These external funds must be counted as a resource in meeting your financial need, and consequently, we may have to adjust your financial aid package
