COMPETE WITHDRAWAL
Students who withdraw from Trinity and are receiving financial aid may owe a balance to Trinity, federal, or state programs.
Withdrawing from all courses during a term may result in a change in institutional charges and a reduction in Trinity funded awards.
Financial aid will be reduced for financial aid recipients who withdraw from all classes before completing 60% of the term (based on the number of days in the term). The Office of Financial Aid will calculate the percentage of the term completed to determine the amount of aid applicable to the completed portion of the term. The unearned portion of the financial aid award must be returned to the appropriate funding sources. If funds have been awarded for indirect costs (those not related to tuition, fees, and books), a percentage of these funds may also need to be returned. As a result, students may be required to return money they received from Federal sources.
Financial aid will be reduced for students with Texas or institutional fund awards, who withdraw within the first three weeks of the term, as outlined by Trinity's refund policy.
Withdrawal can result in a reduction of funds and have a significant impact on future financial aid eligibility (see Standards of Academic Progress Policy).
If you are considering withdrawing from Trinity University, please contact the Office of Financial Aid and request an appointment with the Director of Financial Aid.
