SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
If you or your family experience a significant event that hinders your ability to finance your education, you may qualify for a re-evaluation of your financial aid award package. It is important that you inform the Office of Financial Aid of any extenuating circumstance which you believe is not adequately reflected on your FAFSA. The Office of Financial Aid will require appropriate documentation before considering an appeal.
When considering your special circumstance, the Office of Financial Aid takes into account the availability of funds, the timeliness of your original application for financial aid, the timeliness of your appeal, and the nature of the change in circumstance. Re-evaluation of your financial aid eligibility is subject to federal, state and University regulations.
If an appeal is approved, corrections will be submitted to the federal processor so that a new Student Aid Report (SAR) will be processed, and a revised award letter will be sent.
