Performance Appraisals and Annual Wage Adjustments
Classified employees are formally evaluated twice during their initial probationary period. These evaluations provide feedback to employees regarding their performance and occur at two months and five months after the initial date of hire. Classified employees who transfer or are promoted serve a new six-month orientation. Evaluations are conducted at two months and five months after the date of the transfer or promotion. Employees completing the six-month probationary period will be evaluated annually thereafter.
Classified, contract and professional-exempt employees are evaluated regarding job performance on an annual basis. These evaluations serve to support any supervisory recommendation for annual merit adjustments.
Annual wage adjustments for contract and professional-exempt employees are based solely on merit awards regarding job performance.
A general wage adjustment for classified employees consists of a percent of salary applied to all employees and may include an additional percent of salary based on performance.
