Mission Statement

The mission of University Risk Management is to provide a comprehensive risk management program that contributes to the health, safety and protection of employees, students and visitors, and to the protection of physical and financial resources.

Purpose

Risk management is the process of minimizing the adverse effects of accidental losses. To accomplish this process, risk management programs at Trinity University are implemented through collaborative efforts with several departments and the Safety, Security and Health Committee. To implement these programs for the University effectively, it is the responsibility of all members of the University community  to actively support the risk management programs, policies and procedures.

Protecting University Assets

The University maintains various property and casualty insurance policies which provide coverage to certain employees for liability in the performance of their duties, for third-party injuries, and for property losses.

The following information is provided as a reference for Trinity University administrators, faculty and staff who may encounter risk management situations such as injuries or property damage, or who may have questions about exposures of the University to potential risk. This information describes administrative procedures for handling such incidents, and is intended to serve as guidelines for daily use.

The Director for Risk Management and Insurance is responsible for risk management. Any questions regarding risk management should be directed to the office of the Office of Human Resources in Northrup Hall, Room 108, ext. 7507.
