Pamela
B.A. Finance & Economics

Truman State University


Born and raised in Ghana, Pamela currently works as an intern at the cardiovascular group practice, Endovascular & Heart Institute.  In the past, she worked at University Hospital in San Antonio as a research assistant for the surgery/trauma center. While at Truman State, she served as an economics tutor and research assistant. Pamela enjoys reading, biking, cooking, volunteering and exploring new cultures by traveling.

Gary
B.A. Biology
Northwestern University

Gary works at Urology San Antonio as a research recruiter.  While at Northwestern, he worked at Evanston Northwestern Hospital as an ER technician and in the Neurobiology Department doing research.  Gary was President of the pre-health student group One Step Before.  He did a research internship at the University of Michigan.  He also did an internship at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons where he was exposed to the future of healthcare and medicine.  Gary loves working out, playing basketball, writing poetry, and hanging out with friends and family.

Ben

While at Texas A&M, Ben was involved with Class Council and served as the class of 2005 service chair.  He has carried the love of service over to Trinity where he is the HCAD class service chair.  Ben co-founded a T-shirt company, teaches TABC classes, and works as a research assistant at University Hospital in San Antonio.  Ben feels healthcare administration is a good fit for him because of his biomedical science background and the numerous leadership positions he has held.  His interests include playing sports, working out, and being outdoors.

Jessica

Jessica was born in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.  She grew up in Texas and spent her undergraduate years at The University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Finance degree.  While there, she was a journalist for the undergraduate business newspaper "CBA Today" and gained several years of health care experience working as a clinical assistant and unit clerk at Seton Medical Center.  Immediately following graduation she worked as an Administrative Assistant in an Orthodontic practice.  In her free time Jessica enjoys rowing and participates in 5K's.

Nat
B.S. Biology
Northeastern State University

Nathaniel was raised in Bristow, OK, a small town outside of Tulsa, were both of his parents have careers in the healthcare field.  He was co-Valedictorian of Bristow High School, and went on to obtain his degree in Biology from Northeastern State University.  In his last two years of attending NSU, he held down a management position at a retail clothing store.  At heart he is an outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, and many other hobbies. 

Darcy

Trinity University

Born and raised in Tucson, AZ, Darcy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Trinity University, with minors in environmental studies and Spanish. At Trinity, she was Treasurer of the Tri Beta biology honors fraternity, participated in Roteract International, and Gamma Chi Delta social sorority. Darcy is currently working in the physiology research lab at Trinity and serving as class historian, intramural co-chair, and Vice President for Trinity's Graduate Student Association.

Peyton
B.B.A. Business Administration
Texas Christian University

Peyton was born in Fort Worth and has lived in Texas all of his life.  Prior to attending Trinity he was employed for a large non-profit healthcare system in East Texas serving in a number of positions.  He believes that a career in healthcare is challenging, demanding and quite rewarding.  Peyton’s hobbies include reading, golf, billiards, and fishing.  He also serves as class president.

Jeff
B.S. Engineering Science
Trinity University

After graduating from Trinity's Engineering program in 1999, Jeff worked as an oil and gas design engineer at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio for three years.  Since then, Jeff has relocated to Dallas to work at Crate and Barrel, and has volunteered in the Clinical Technology Services department at Baylor Hospital's Irving campus.   He is an avid swimmer who captained Trinity's Men's Swimming Team to an SCAC Conference Championship during his senior year.  In his spare time, Jeff enjoys guitar, exercise, and reading.

Chase
B.S. Biology
Northeastern State University

Chase has attended universities in Texas, Hawaii, and Oklahoma.  After undergrad, he spent four years working as a research assistant in academic biomedical research institutions studying topics such as the molecular mechanisms of heart disease and pathophysiology and advanced detection of pediatric infectious diseases.  His hobbies include surfing and music, and he also serves as class representative to the graduate student association.

Sarah
B.A. Business Administration
Southwestern University

After graduation Sarah moved to Merida, Yucatan in Mexico where she worked as an English as a second language teacher for all ages and a tour guide of the city and surrounding areas. Afterwards, back in Texas, she joined the Texas Department of Banking where she has been for the past year and a half working as a bank examiner. She comes from a large family of health care professionals and looks forward to working in a position with a constant changing environment.

Fraser

University of Oklahoma

During his undergrad at the University of Oklahoma, Fraser was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and Order of Omega Honor Society where he held numerous leadership positions. He was able to gain some great exposure in the health care field by volunteering at Norman Regional's ER during the school year and spending a summer as an administrative intern at Integris Baptist in Oklahoma City.  Outside of school Fraser enjoys playing golf, various water activities, and traveling.  He is also responsible for coordinating interviews for the annual Spring Preceptors' conference.

Morley

Trinity University

During undergrad Morley was a member of Gamma Chi Delta sorority, TUVAC and the women's golf team.  She also served as TU Greek Council Co-Chair and as a research assistant in an eating disorder prevention study conducted by Dr. Carolyn Becker.  Morley's interests include sports, music and volunteering.

Karim
B.S. Environmental Health, minors in Business Administration and Public Health
American University of Beirut

Karim was born in Manama, Bahrain and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. He was the recipient of the Faculty of Health Sciences Penrose Award which acknowledges the student that best combines the qualities of scholarship, character, and leadership. Karim has volunteered at the American University of Beirut Medical Center and interned at the United Nations Development Program/Ministry of Environment in Lebanon. In addition, Karim is a certified Advanced Scuba Diver, a gymnast and enjoys snowboarding during the winter season.

Jennifer 
B.S. Business Administration - Management and International Business

Born and raised in San Antonio, TX, Jennifer graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with concentrations in management and international business.  While at Trinity, she was involved with the professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, and served as the VP of Operations, Social Chair, and Secretary.  Jennifer was also President of Chinese Culture Club for two years and speaks Cantonese and some Spanish.  She has several years experience as a Certified Nurse Aide, CPR instructor, and Unit Secretary of a hospital.  In her spare time, she enjoys bowling, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.  She currently serves as the intramural co-chair for the class of 2007.

Mary

Mary was born in Germany and has grown up all over the United States. In undergrad, Mary played on the women’s soccer team and served as captain. She was an active member of the Student Athlete Advising Committee and other NCAA committees. Currently, Mary is working as a credit analyst for CrediCard National Bank and helps coach a youth YMCA soccer team. Mary is also serving as the HCAD social chair.

Aaron

Aaron was born and raised in Houston. While pursuing his undergraduate degree at Trinity Aaron was a member of the football team and participated in various intramural sports. Since graduation he has been working at the Nix Health Care Center (downtown location) as an Administrative Resident and he has also been volunteering at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital as an aide to the unit secretary of their Medical Unit. Aaron loves to travel and spent a summer abroad studying in Spain. His other outside interests include playing basketball, golf, and tennis.

Jason

Jason graduated from Texas Christian University in May 2005 with a B.A. in History and a minor in Business.  At TCU, he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity and served in various leadership positions, including Scholarship Chair.  He also held an internship at University Hospital Lewisham in London, England during the spring of 2004.

Jacqueline

In 1993, Jackie graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting.   She began her career in the Assurance and Advisory Services group of Ernst & Young, and obtained her CPA license in 1994.  In 2001, Jackie built the firm's first formal alumni program covering all former E&Y employees in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas.   Most recently, she worked as a Research Consultant for the international retained executive search firm of Russell Reynolds Associates.  Primarily serving the Health Care sector, Jackie assisted with the recruitment of various executives for medical device and pharmaceutical companies. 

Jane Anne
B.A. Urban Studies
Rhodes College

Along with her degree in Urban Studies, Jane Anne also acquired a minor in Business Administration.  She was part of the Social Regulation Council and worked as a student intern with the admissions office assisting in the arrangement of prospective student visits. Jane Anne was a member and officer of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.  She spent the summer of 2003 studying abroad in Southern Spain.  During her stay in Memphis she worked at several different health facilities including St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Hollywood Health Loop (a local health clinic). She spent her summers as a marketing assistant at the Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, NM.  Outside of work and the classroom she enjoys playing golf, reading, and traveling.

Aurelia
B.A. Psychology
University of Iowa

Aurelia graduated in May 2005 from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Aging Studies. While there she was a member of the Hawkeye Marching Band, Women in Science and Engineering, and the Cycling Club. Currently Aurelia works in the Radiology Department at Northeast Methodist Hospital as a receptionist and is a Graduate Assistant for the HCAD department. She also serves as the ACHE class representative. Aurelia has worked and volunteered with the elderly throughout her life and is planning on focusing on elder care in her career. Aurelia loves the outdoors and enjoys mountain and road biking, backpacking, reading, and cooking.

Megan
B.S. Business Administration

While attending Trinity, Megan competed all four year for the Trinity Cross Country and Track & Field Teams. She was captain of the 2004 NCAA Regional Championship Cross Country Team and was named numerous times for SCAC academic honors. Megan spent this last summer as an intern at Las Palmas & Del Sol Distribution Center in El Paso, Texas. Megan is working this semester as a graduate assist at Trinity University. She enjoys activities including snow skiing, competitive running, and reading.

Ryan

Ryan Van Der Kar graduated from Trinity University in May 2004 with a degree in Economics and a minor in Business.  Ryan has a strong background in science, which peaked his interest in the healthcare field.  During the year away from his studies, Ryan worked locally for USAA as a Mortgage Processing Specialist and coached a summer league swim team.  While at Trinity Ryan served as Captain of the Swim Team his senior year, was named SCAC Swimmer of the Year 3 of his 4 years at Trinity, and was an NCAA All-American. 

Ambree

Ambree is proud to be the first Aggie in her family.  While at Texas A&M University, she earned a degree in Psychology and quickly found an interest in the healthcare field.  After volunteering at the College Station Medical Center, she decided to combine her passion for people and healthcare to pursue a career in healthcare administration.  She was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and served in numerous leadership positions.  She has worked for Chili’s for the past several years and spent a semester interning at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Bryan
B.A. Psychology

Bryan grew up in Dallas where he attended Bishop Lynch High School.  He graduated from Trinity University in May 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  Outside of school he enjoys playing basketball, skiing, and participating in various recreational competitions.  He also has a strong liking for many different styles of music.  He also enjoys traveling whenever the opportunity arises.   

Shaun
B.S. Industrial Engineering, minor Business Administration
Bradley University

Shaun spent the last 4 years designing efficient production systems for a local manufacturing plant.  He now brings his IE skills to healthcare. He has completed a pro bono project at an organ transplant clinic and presently works 3 jobs - with the VA, the Gonzaba Medical Group, and Go Health America, respectively.  Shaun is also the Graduate Assistant responsible for maintaining the department website.  What free time he has left is used to train and compete in marathons and other road races.
