Matt
B.B.A. Business Administration
University of Texas at San Antonio
Matt, a native of San Antonio, continues
to call San Antonio home. He finished his Business
degree just one credit shy of a minor in Biology and
Chemistry. Matt competed at the National Tennis
Tournament in doubles in Florida during his first few
years at St. Mary’s University. He also spent two years
completing his church mission for the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tacoma, Washington. He
held several leadership positions organizing and
training missionaries. Once he transferred to UTSA,
Matt raised his family, worked full-time and graduated
Cum Laude. He has spent time working at his father’s
dental clinic in various capacities from dental
assisting and bookkeeping to management roles. Matt
enjoys tennis, golf, basketball and football. |

Asha
B.S. Human Biology

Austin
Asha,
a native of Ponca City, OK, graduated from UT in May
2006. During college, she was the Activity Coordinator
for International Opportunities in Natural Sciences
(IONS). Asha was one of the founding members of the
Student Global AIDS Campaign and served on the
organization’s media committee. She also received her
national and state certification as a pharmacy
technician, and she worked in the energetic environment
of the CVS Pharmacy for two years – a highly rewarding
experience. Asha enjoys visiting museums and historical
sites, reading and hiking. |

While completing her
degree at Trinity, Ryan was the Community Service Chair
of the Black Student Union. To pursue her interest in
health care, she participated in the AIDS Outreach
program with the Trinity University Voluntary Action
Committee. During the summer, Ryan spent time
volunteering at Houston Northeast Medical Center. She
is now working at New York and Company clothing store,
where she was promoted from sales associate to full-time
sales leader. |

After growing up in Sacramento,
California, Sarah went to Hawaii Pacific University to
pursue her degree in Management. While getting her
degree, she volunteered at the Navy-Marine Corps Relief
Society as a casework and volunteer manager. While in
Hawaii, Sarah was honored with the Volunteer of the Year
Award and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society
Meritorious Service Award. She also volunteered at
Kuakini Medical Center as a Therapeutic Recreation
Aide. In her free time, Sarah enjoys playing soccer,
traveling and cooking. |

Texas Tech University
Ashlee, a native Texan from Odessa,
completed her undergraduate degree in Business Marketing
at Texas Tech. Shortly after graduation, she accepted
an administrative internship where she assisted the CEO
in opening a new hospital in her hometown. Once
construction was complete, Ashlee assumed the
responsibility of implementing JCAHO policies for the
hospital. She then pursued her MBA with a concentration
in Health Organization Management. She received honors
including induction into the Sigma Iota Epsilon Honor
Society and National Dean’s List. After completing her
MBA, Ashlee worked as Unit Coordinator for Obstetrics
and Gynecology at the Odessa campus of Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center. Ashlee’s interest
include reading, golf and working out. |

Megan

Le Moyne College
Megan was born and raised in Appalachian,
New York. While pursuing her undergraduate degree at Le
Moyne, she was a research assistant for two years in the
psychology department. She presented her research at
the National Association for Psychological Science
Convention in May 2005 and 2006. Megan was a member of
Psi Chi (the National Honor Society in Psychology) and
Leaders Scholars, an organization that planned and
presented leadership conferences. Megan has interned at
Psychological Health Care, a multidisciplinary group
mental health practice, and Centre Syracuse, an eating
disorder partial hospital program. In her spare times
she enjoys hiking, watching New York Yankee baseball and
relaxing at the beach. |

Derrick
B.S. Health Care Management
Southern Illinois University
Derrick, a native of New Orleans, LA,
completed his degree in Health Care Management while
serving in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman, trained
as a surgical technologist specialized in
otolaryngology. Over the last nine years, Derrick
served in the Navy filling various positions in
healthcare facilities and on the battlefield in Iraq.
He was the Head and Neck Surgical Team leader at Naval
Medical Center San Diego, Assistant Clinical Manager at
Naval Hospital Rota Spain, and most recently, he was
clinical manager for the Otolaryngology, Allergy and
Audiology Departments at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.
His interests include traveling, mountain biking,
snowboarding, climbing and golf. |

Joe
B.S. Applied Exercise Physiology
Texas A&M
Joseph was born in Billings, Montana and
graduated from Texas A&M in December 2005. Along the
way, he played football at Sam Houston State University
and was a member of the Singing Cadets at Texas A&M.
Joseph served as a child advocate with Texas CASA in the
courts in Brazos County. He worked at St. Joseph’s
Hospital in Bryan, Texas in Inpatient Physical Therapy.
Joseph has taught First Aid, CPR and professional
rescuer courses at the local Red Cross, and he currently
works at Methodist Hospital as an Exercise
Physiologist. He enjoys vacationing in Montana,
watching sports, listening to music and working out. |

Southwestern University
Scott graduated from Southwestern
University in Georgetown, TX. While attending
Southwestern, he served as Inter-Fraternity Council
President, Phi Delta Theta Vice President, and was a
member of Beta Beta Beta, Sigma Delta Pi, Student
Foundation, Student Congress and Who’s Who. Scott
worked as a lab assistant and tutor in Southwestern’s
Language Learning Center. Among other health care
experiences, Scott enjoyed working as an administrative
intern with Questcare Medical Services, Physician’s
Association in Dallas. Scott enjoys intramural
football, fishing, golfing and grilling. |

Jonathan (JD)
B.S. Kinesiology
Texas A&M University
JD, a San Antonio native, graduated from
graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Kinesiology,
with a concentration in Applied Exercise Physiology.
After completing an internship at Covenant Hospital in
Lubbock, he was hired as a Fitness Specialist. Jonathan
is an American College of Sports Medicine certified
personal training, and he is currently preparing for his
Exercise Specialist certification. In his spare time,
he likes to play golf, work out, go to the river and
participate in outdoor activities. |

Shawn

After graduating from The University of
Texas in 2003, Shawn interned for the City of Norfolk
where he gained invaluable experience in safety and
disability management. Before starting the MHA program,
Shawn worked for a private environmental consulting
firm, Industrial Concepts Unlimited. He is excited to
apply his knowledge in the health and safety field to
the MHA program. His interests include traveling,
playing guitar and fishing. |

Baylor University
Jason is a native Texan who grew up in
Sherman, Texas. While he completed his undergraduate
degree in Economics at Baylor, Jason was very involved
in the steering committee for the Student Foundation.
He coordinated nationwide recruitment efforts for
Baylor, participating in college fairs, receptions and
other events. Jason has been married for two years, and
recently returned to Texas after living in Philadelphia
where he worked for SEI Investments as an analyst in
their trust company. Jason enjoys spending time with
his wife, listening to live music, and most of all,
being back in Texas! |

Megan was born in Long Beach, California,
but she spent most of her childhood in Colorado. For
high school, she attended Robert Louis Stevenson, a
college preparatory boarding school in Pebble Beach,
CA. While at Trinity, Megan participated in Chemistry
research and was an officer of her sorority, Chi Beta
Epsilon. Her interests include traveling, outdoor
activities, cooking and reading. |

Born and raised in Plano, Texas, Curt
completed his Finance degree at Texas A&M University.
While at A&M, he participated in the Financial
Management Association and Philosophy Club. Curt was a
trumpet player, officer in the A&M Jazz Club and
volunteered in the emergency room at the local
hospital. After graduation, he worked at Intermountain
Healthcare in Salt Lake City, Utah as a budget intern
and shadowed a hospital administrator at Alta View
Hospital in Sandy, Utah. Curt studied abroad in England
and Ireland, and he enjoys skiing, hiking, hockey and
playing classical piano. |

Adrienne

Adrienne was born in Texas, but she has
spent much of her life living in many different
countries. While at Trinity, Adrienne played lacrosse
for five years and was a member of Chi Beta Epsilon.
She has interned in the quality management department at
the Audie Murphy VA hospital in San Antonio. Adrienne
currently works as a clinical research coordinator for a
research center in the medical center. |

While Amanda was at Trinity, she was
actively involved in Sigma Theta Tau sorority and the
Trinity University Voluntary Action Center as a first
grade mentor. Amanda was Vice President of Recruitment
and Retention for the Trinity Multicultural Network, a
program established to help motivate high school
students to continue their education at secondary
institutions. She is fluent in Spanish and interned at
Hospital ICE in Madrid, Spain. Amanda also interned at
Fort Sam Houston- Medical Command Headquarters in San
Antonio. She enjoys traveling, cooking and volunteering
with youth. |

Jerold,
is an "Army Brat" that has lived many places, but knows
Killeen, Texas as his home. As a devoted Longhorn he
was active on campus and in the community through many
organizations, served as a mentor/tutor at local high
schools, volunteered at Metroplex Hospital, and worked
at an oral surgery clinic. After completion of
undergraduate studies, he served as the Mentor/Volunteer
Coordinator at American YouthWorks, a charter high
school in Austin. Jerold enjoys traveling, playing
sports, and volunteerism. |

Jeremy
B.B.A. Honors Program in Management
Texas Tech University
Born in Dallas, Jeremy has spent his
whole life in Texas. He received Summa Cum Laude honors
distinction and earned the title of “Banner Bearer” at
the Texas Tech commencement ceremony – an award that is
given to the top graduate of each college. While in
Lubbock, Jeremy served as president of the Rawls College
of Business Ambassadors. As president of Phi Sigma
Beta, a business service organization, Jeremy organized
numerous community service projects including Habitat
for Humanity and Toys for Tots. He also spent time
volunteering at the Texas Tech Science Center and
University Medical Center during the school year. For
the past two summers, Jeremy has worked as a therapy
technician at Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation in
Dallas. His hobbies include exercising, swimming,
watching and playing all sports and traveling. |

Nicole

Nicole spent her first two years of
college at North Central Texas Junior College, where she
was involved in the Spirit Committee and tennis team.
While at UTSA, she earned a spot on the President’s List
for academic achievement and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Nicole has worked at Nix Health Care System since 2005.
She now works as
an Assistant Administrator in a San Antonio cardiology clinic.
Her responsibilities at the clinic include research,
project management and quality improvement. Nicole
enjoys spending time with friends and family,
exercising, reading and traveling. |

Ashley was born in Germany and has lived in cities
across the nation. While pursuing her undergraduate
degree, she was a member of the women’s soccer team and
worked on the New Student Orientation committee. Since
graduation, Ashley has continued working at the Jewish
Community Center of San Antonio where she teaches swim
lessons, coaches soccer and actively promotes youth
fitness and wellness. Her other interests include yoga,
traveling and outdoor adventure activities.

Matthew, a native of San Antonio, started
his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at
Austin before transferring to TCU. He served as
Inter-Fraternity Council representative and Philanthropy
Chair in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. After
graduation, Matthew worked at UTMB in Galveston. He
started as a part-time volunteer and patient services
advocate for the Environmental Services Department
(housekeeping). Matthew then accepted a job working on
the business development team for the Electronic Health
Network, the foremost provider of telemedicine services
in the world – where he was responsible for selecting
and implementing a customer relationship management
software system. |

Briton was born in Longmont, Colorado,
but she has spent most of her life in Oklahoma. While
she was in college, Briton was an officer of Alpha Gamma
Delta and participated in many philanthropic
opportunities. She was a member of the Integrated
Business Core, National Society of Collegiate Scholars
and Order of Omega. After graduation, Briton worked at
Integris Health in the Central Business Office and
volunteered as a mentor at Western Village Elementary
School. She enjoys tennis, softball, volunteering and
being outdoors. |

Born
in Detroit and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Kajal held
many business internships while obtaining her
undergraduate degrees. She interned at two e-business
solution companies, Idea.com and Answers.com, and had
the opportunity to work for the Texas Office of the
Attorney General. Upon graduation, Kajal worked for
Experian-Scorex as a business analyst. She soon
realized that she wanted to pursue her interest in
health care, and she began working for Cardinal Health
in the supply management department at Memorial Hermann
Hospital in Houston, TX. In her spare time, Kajal
enjoys cooking, dancing, traveling and playing tennis. |

Oakwood College
Holly was born in Michigan, and completed
her Healthcare Administration degree in three years at
Oakwood College. During her first year, Holly started a
gymnastic-acrosport team that promoted drug-free and
goal-oriented lifestyles to students. She taught a
collegiate level gymnastics class and received honors as
one of the Students Changing Life on Campus for her
efforts in resurrecting the gymnastic program. Holly
was an officer of the National Society of Black
Engineers, ACHE and Eta Beta Chi, an on-campus
Healthcare Administration Club. Since graduation, she
has worked as a financial administrator at a local
physician’s office – working with insurance
reimbursement and billing. Holly also enjoys billiards,
golf, bargain shopping and traveling. |

Tashanna

Tashanna moved to San Antonio in 2002
when her husband received orders for a change of duty
station to Brooke Army Medical Center. She began
attending UTSA to pursue her degree in Finance, and she
earned a spot on the Honor Roll and Dean’s List. While
completing her degree, Tashanna was a home health nurse,
and had a part-time job as a licensed property and
casualty insurance representative. She is still a
licensed vocational nurse in California and Texas and
continues to maintain her insurance licenses in all 50
states. Her spare time is limited, but Tashanna enjoys
reading and spending time with family and friends. |

Born in Houston and raised in Dallas,
Ashley pursued many internship opportunities while in
Austin. She was a journalist for Horns Illustrated
Sports Magazine and worked at a marketing firm in Austin. Her introduction to health care was while serving
on the Health Care Expenditure Committee in the Texas
House of Representatives. After graduation, Ashley
worked in patient admissions at St. David’s Medical
Center in Austin. She also held an administrative
internship last summer at Valley Baptist Health System
in Harlingen, Texas. While in college, she was
Recruitment Officer for her sorority, Chi Omega, and was
active in the Public Relation Student Society of America
(PRSSA). Ashley’s other interests include dance, art
and running. |
