Students in the
graduate program are likely to find many career paths in the
field of health care administration. On-campus students usually
enter graduate study with little experience in the health care
field. They are often unfamiliar with the many different career
paths and initial opportunities
available to health care
administrators. Along with the conceptual knowledge, health care
administrators need strong leadership skills and an ability to
work with a variety of people. A sampling of job titles for
recent on-campus graduates include: Director of Emergency
Services for a large hospital serving indigent patients; Health
Analyst for a managed care company; Assistant Administrator of
Operations for a medical center; Director of Financial
Operations for Clinical Affairs for a medical school; Health
Care Consultant for an international accounting firm; Director
of Radiology and Cardiology for a children's medical center; and
Director of Strategic Development for a health care system.
Typically students in the Executive Program have specific goals
for obtaining a graduate degree. Some Executive Program students
have clinical training and want to increase and apply their
business knowledge while others have administrative backgrounds
and feel a graduate degree will enhance their advancement.
Whatever one's personal goals may be, health care administrators
today face tough financial and competitive environments. Trinity
University's Executive Program is tailored to meet these
challenges for experienced health care professionals.
