Trinity University offers two
options for obtaining a Master of Science in Health Care
Administration. The On-campus Program includes four semesters of
coursework on the Trinity campus, followed by a 12-month
administrative residency. The Executive Program is a
distance-learning experience designed for individuals currently
working in a health care setting. The two programs are
equivalent in terms of quality, rigor, and curricular content.
They have different formats.
On Campus
Program
Students complete 16-months (four
semesters) of on-campus coursework and have opportunities to
interact with health care executives from the local community.
On-campus study is followed by a 12-month Administrative
Residency where the student works and studies at a health care
organization under the direct supervision of a senior-level
administrator. A faculty advisor is assigned to each student and
makes on-site visits during the residency. The Administrative
Residency provides students with the practical learning
experience to apply the theoretical knowledge attained in the
classroom. The On-campus Program usually takes 28 months to
complete.

Executive
Program
Students in the Executive Program
are already working in the health care field and have chosen to
study for a graduate degree while working full-time. The
Executive Program is a distance-learning experience. Students
come to the Trinity campus at the beginning of each fall, spring
and summer semester for three to four days of intensive
coursework. Course requirements are accomplished through written
assignments via the internet, fax and conventional mail, and by
participating in teleconferencing sessions. Course assignments
focus on the application of conceptual knowledge to the
students' current health care career environments. The Executive
Program usually takes 23 months to complete 42 credit hours.
