The Health Care Administration
Department at Trinity University has established the Center
for Leadership Development in Health Management. The new
Center will enhance the Trinity program’s efforts to prepare
future leaders for the health management field. The
Center’s unique service offerings will help develop leaders
who are able to adapt and respond to industry needs in
health care.
The Center’s key objectives are:
-
to provide professional and career
development activities for Trinity students, alumni, and
friends at all stages of their careers;
-
to recruit and select a diverse and
highly qualified group of students for studies that lead
to a master’s degree in Health Care Administration; and
-
to develop and maintain quality
placements for the program’s Administrative Residents
that integrate theory with practice and provide a
foundation for a student's professional career.
The Center and member health care
organizations will offer opportunities for graduate students
taking part in a yearlong residency requirement of the
program. The Center also will assist with career
transitions, provide professional development activities
such as lectures by distinguished health care professionals
and academics, resume development, and workshops to boost
interviewing skills and professional etiquette. Mentoring
and job referral services also will be provided.
The Center will also enable students, alumni,
faculty, and friends to develop the skills, knowledge, and
abilities to bring about the types of improvements in the
health care system envisioned by the Quality Chasm
report.
