Trinity HCAD Alumni, Dr. Dianna Burns-Banks Article "Doc Talk: A Magazine for Physicians" August 2006 SAN ANTONIO - Dr. Dianne Burns-Banks, Trinity HCAD Alumni was highlighted in the August 2006 issue of Doc Talk, a South Texas Magazine for Physicians. "Dr. Dianna Burns-Banks, current President of the Bexar County Medical Society, started the South Texas for Pediatric Care twenty years ago. She is also a tireless advocate for the medical profession and the need to address issues that run the gamut of the profession: Public health, insurance, wellness, managed care and all the problems that hinder the ability of people to have reasonable access to healthcare and the ability of doctors to deliver it." Doc Talk: "You received a Master's in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University. How instructional has that been in your success in operating five clinics?" Burns-Banks: "The reason I did it was because when the insurance companies would come and talk to us and negotiate, they always seemed to have the upper hand in some way. It was a good experience, because it opened my eyes to a much wider view of what happens in medicine. It's a terrific program- the CEO from Santa Rosa went through that. It gives you such an excellent, overall view of what's happening in healthcare. I actually kind of miss it, because it really keeps your mind open and alert."
