The department accepts
applications beginning October 1 for admission in fall of the
following year. Application files are evaluated on a rolling
admission basis; therefore, the earlier an applicant submits all
of the materials described below, the earlier he or she will
receive an admission decision. For optimal consideration,
applicants are encouraged to apply much earlier than June 1.
All application materials should be submitted to:
Trinity University
Department of Health Care Administration
One Trinity Place, #58
San Antonio, Texas 78212-7200
Required application materials include:
1. Completed application form for admission to graduate study.
Application
2. A $30.00 non-refundable application fee, payable by check to
Trinity University.

3. Official transcripts, not more than one year old, from all
colleges and universities previously attended.
4. Aptitude test scores from either the Graduate Record
Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
Official scores should be sent directly from the Educational
Testing Service. Scores over five years old are no longer valid
and the test must be retaken. Click
here for phone numbers and Internet web sites for
the GRE and GMAT tests.
5. A résumé or autobiographical sketch detailing your
educational background and employment experience.
6. A brief statement of purpose (1-2 pages typed and
double-spaced) explaining your reasons for selecting a career in
health care administration.
7. Two letters of recommendation from individuals who are
familiar with your academic and/or employment performance.
Once an applicant's file is completed, the Admissions Committee
reviews it on an individual basis to determine if academic
criteria are met. If the initial review is positive, the
applicant is invited to the Trinity campus to interview with two
faculty members and a graduate student, who gives the candidate
a tour of the campus. Click
here for a list of hotel suggestions. Should the
applicant live out of state, he or she is given the option of
interviewing with an alumnus of the graduate program, who lives
in the same geographic region. Shortly after the interview date,
the Admissions Committee makes a recommendation to the Chair,
Health Care Administration Department at Trinity. The applicant
receives a letter notifying him or her of an admission decision
as the last step of the admission process.
The above information and further details about university
policies are available in the annual Trinity University Courses
of Study publication. Assuming an applicant meets the academic
criteria for graduate admission, Trinity does not discriminate
in admissions on the basis of race, color, age, religion, sex,
marital status, national origin, or disability, veteran or
disabled veteran status. Any questions or complaints relative to
discrimination should be referred to the Director of Human
Resources. The Section 504/Americans with Disabilities Act
compliance officer is the Associate Vice President for Fiscal
Affairs. Questions or complaints relative to facilities,
services, and accessibility should be referred to the Office of
Fiscal Affairs.
