JOB TITLE: Business Operations
(Manager, Director)
REPORTS TO: AVP, Regional Operations
SCOPE: Responsible for
creating and monitoring standard policies and procedures for all patient
billing and collections; ensuring HIPAA privacy compliance for 8 –12 ASCs;
serve as a key member of the Operations Team; assume leadership for
strategically planning and executing world-class operations and excellent
patient care. This is a staff function with no line
authority of direct reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establish
standard agreed upon Patient Billing and
• Act as
subject matter expert (SME) on all matters relating to billing, collections.
• Support,
update and advise internal and external customers in billing and collections
issues.
• Recommend
and Implement improvements to the Billing and Collection processes, and monitor
and measure progress.
• Keep
abreast and current of all federal, state and local rules, regulations and laws
affecting patient billing and collection activities in assigned Region.
• Develop
and implement policies and procedures to ensure proper and timely billing and
collections of fees due services rendered.
• Train ASCs
on proper business office policies and procedures.
2. Assist in the management of HIPAA,
Compliance, Licensure and Charts Audits
• Provide
chart audit data on a quarterly basis to the Corporate Services - Chart Audits
Department.
• In
cooperation with Corporate Services – Chart Audits, assist ASCs in obtaining
and maintaining state licensures.
• Assist
ASCs in performing quarterly and/or annual statistical reports or forms
required by the state and/or AmSurg Corp.
• Filing
Applications for Medicare approval on all changes of ownership, and assisting
in obtaining Medicare billing numbers.
• Monitor
claims periodically to ensure that ASCs are following necessary Medicare Rules
and Regulations.
• Remain
alert to new business opportunities.
3.
Evaluate the billing and collection system of any potential
acquisitions and provide a written report of findings and recommendations.

Requirements:

2 to 5 years experience in medical billing required.
·
Related experience in healthcare administration
a plus.
·
Knowledge of
·
Bachelors Degree in business or related field,
or equivalent experience.
·
