The cancer program at Memorial spans the two hospital system, and provides a multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach to cancer care. The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons awarded a three year approval with commendation to the cancer program in 2005.

 

This executive level position is responsible for leading, planning, and expanding the cancer program with a focus on clinical quality, physician and patient education, and solidifying the program as the regional provider of choice.  Continued development of specialty programs in breast, colorectal, lung, prostrate, and other cancer areas is important.  The Vice President will ensure efficient patient and physician access and scheduling, establish a coordinated multi-disciplinary patient care process, and maintain ACOS accreditation.  The Vice President will also work with medical staff in the expansion of clinical trials, establishment of state-of-the art treatment options and referral development.

 

An MHA or other related Master’s degree is required along with a minimum of  5 years health care operational experience at a mid- to senior- management level.  Prior cancer hospital or cancer program experience is highly preferred along with excellent business and program development expertise.  Candidates must possess strong leadership and communication capabilities, initiative with a drive to excel, and the ability to adeptly facilitate and work collaboratively with a variety of constituencies.   ID#30567.
