Valley Health is a not-for-profit organization serving healthcare needs of those in and around the Top of Virginia, as well as parts of West Virginia and Maryland.  Valley Health includes six hospitals, 576 licensed inpatient beds, 5,000 employees and a medical staff of nearly 500.  Winchester Medical Center, 411-beds, is the only Level II Trauma Center in the region and serves as the tertiary services hub for Valley Health. Winchester Medical Center has achieved HealthGrades’ 2009 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence based on its clinical quality performance. The Vice President—Corporate Service Lines reports to the President of Winchester Medical Center/Senior Vice President of Valley Health.  This highly visible position is responsible for all of the service lines in the organization, including heart and vascular; oncology; ortho/rehab; neuro; women's and children's; and bariatric.  All corporate directors of the service lines report to this executive.  The incoming Vice President will be charged with developing a strategic plan for all service lines.  The VP oversees the fiscal operations within service line/department and ensures the System of effective physician relations and encourages the use of System services.  The Vice President—Corporate Service Lines’ direct budget responsibility is approximately $250 million gross revenue;  direct FTE’s are approximately 250; indirect reports include all of nursing in the various service lines,  which would be more than an additional 400 FTE’s.

We are seeking a service line operations executive with experience directing/leading multiple service lines, ideally, in a multi-hospital system.  A master’s degree is required.
