| Margery Arnold, 1990: I graduated in 1990 (Dr. Smart was my advisor) and my husband, R. Matthew Clark '92 (I believe Gary Kates was his advisor) were both history majors. As fate would have it, Trinity just hired me as an instructor in the Psychology Department. I will be graduated with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University in August. I am currently completing my internship at the Tucson VA Medical Center. Matthew is an aviation officer in the US Army. He is currently completing his officer's advanced course in military intelligence at Ft. Huachuca. We are in the thick of negotiations with Dept of the Army to get him stationed at Ft. Sam Houston. If that doesn't work, he will be stationed at Ft. Hood beginning this fall. Now, about our life.... We are happily enjoying life in Tucson, Arizona. Tucson is a great town because it is surrounded by mountains, national forests and a national park. It's very easy to go hiking, mountain biking, or climbing here. We have been moved around quite a bit by the army and have lived outside of Ouijong Bu, South Korea, in Enterprise, Alabama, and Ft. Hood, Texas. Contact |

| Ivan Bojanic, 1990: I've been living and working in Bosnia; my work thus far has been for private relief agencies, primarily in support of thereturn of refugees and internally displaced persons to their pre-war homes. The work has been extremely rewarding, frustrating, and humbling; I have learned much.

| Joe Hootman, 1990: Neisha Nelson (psychology '89) and I (history minor, '90)are living in Austin and are parenting three kiddos. I work as a web developer at U.T., help out with a Lutheran renewal ministry called WordAlone, and dabble with a publication called re:generation quarterly. History's been a great tool for launching in life, not only for the broader perspective it's given, but also in helping me think strategically about what God may be doing at this particular moment in life. |
| Margaret Oertling Cupples, 1990: I'm still living and working in Jackson, Mississippi, and am enjoying our circa-1927 house in Jackson's historic Belhaven neighborhood. Eudora Welty, formerly my back-yard neighbor, lived in this neighborhood for most of her long life, and although we miss her, her home will soon become a museum/writing center, so her spirit remains. On the work front, the nine lawyers in my office merged in April with Bradley Arant Rose & White LLP, a Birmingham, Alabama-based firm with offices here, there, in Huntsville and Montgomery, AL, and in Washington, DC. And, on the home front, in November 2001, my husband, Brett Cupples, and I will celebrate our one-year anniversary. I was thrilled to have several Trinity friends at our wedding, including Debbie Cohen Roos, Ann Shuman, Libby Lowrimore Tomaszewski, Christy Sneed Jobe, Brian and Laura Anderson Bacak, and David Schlosser (with apologies to anyone I've left out). Brett and I had a terrific honeymoon in Italy - Florence and Tuscany - and hope to get back there one of these days. Meantime, if anyone is traveling through the Southland, or otherwise wants to get in touch, you can find me at: Email |
| David Schlosser, 1990: After graduating, I went to the LBJ School at UT-Austin and graduated with a Master's in .Public Affairs in 1992. After that, I returned home to Kansas where I was political director of a successful Governor's campaign. I spent about a year as a bureaucrat at the state public utility regulatory agency. Then I spent about two years lobbying the Kansas legislature with a contract lobbying firm, representing utility and natural resources clients and a variety of other associations and businesses. Since December 1997, I have been an employee of Austin-based Public Strategies, Inc., a fast-growing public relations company. I am the legislative and regulatory press officer for Southwestern Bell Telephone of Arkansas in Little Rock.

Tom Spencer, 1990: All is well here in the Midwest. My family and I are doing fine. I survived the tenure and promotion thing a couple of years ago here at Northwest Missouri State University. Last year I was the editor for and a contributor to an anthology of Missouri history essays titled The Other Missouri History: Populists, Prostitutes, and Regular Folk which was published by the University of Missouri Press. I'm currently working on a research project about the Mormon War period in Missouri (1838-1839). My first book, The St. Louis Veiled Prophet Celebration: Power on Parade, 1877-1995 was published in 2000. I'm currently busy as co-chair of our local Chautauqua committee here in Maryville this year as well as serving as a member of the Missouri Humanities Council. I do hope all is well in San Antonio. I hope to see some of you in June when I come down to grade A.P. exams! |
