Terry L. Smart | Professor
Professor Terry L. Smart specializes in modern European history with particular interests in World War II and the history of East Europe and Soviet Russia. For many years, he directed summer school courses for Trinity Students in the former U.S.S.R. and served in Budapest, Hungary as head of a study abroad program in Eastern Europe for the A.C.S. Professor Smart is an Indiana University graduate and received the Ph.D. degree in history from the University of Kansas. At Trinity, he served as Chair of both the Faculty Senate and University Curriculum Council and for twelve years was Chair of the History Department. He currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the German Heritage Society and has been editor of that society’s journal for seven years.
