Annual Report 2004

I am delighted to submit the 2004 Report on the History Program.
As it indicates, we have had another very strong year in terms of teaching, scholarship, and service. In addition, our year was marked by the completion of a successful search that resulted in the appointment of two new assistant professors: one in African history and one in African American history. The students apparently agree with the department's strengths, to judge by the continuing growth in the number of our majors--as of mid-Spring we had upwards of 100 majors, 37 of whom graduated in either December 2003 or May 2004. I hope that you will find the report useful.
