Donald N. Clark, Professor Dr. Clark teaches courses on China, Japan, Korea, and the history of American foreign relations. He also serves as Director of Trinity's International Studies Program. His research focuses on Korea, where he has spent much of his life as the son of missionaries, a Peace Corps volunteer, Social Science Research Council fellow, and Fulbright scholar. |

| Don was born in South America and educated in international
schools in Colombia, Japan, and Korea. His B.A. is from Whitworth College and his M.A. and
Ph.D. are from Harvard University. A short version of his doctoral dissertation appears in
the Cambridge History of China. He is co-author of two books on the history of
Seoul city, editor of several volumes on Korea including one on the 1980 democracy
uprising in Kwangju, and author of a book on Korean Christianity.
Greenwood Press has just published his book Culture and Customs of
Korea, and he has just completed a book called Living Dangerously
in Chosen: The West in Korea, 1900-1950. He is also
working with Conrad Schirokauer and Barbara Brooks on a new edition of
Schirokauer's Modern East Asia textbook to be published by Harcourt
Brace Publishers. At Trinity, Don is the Fulbright Program coordinator and advises several student groups including Model United Nations and the Korean Students Association. |
