Alida Metcalf, Associate Professorreceived the B.A. (cum laude) from Smith College, and the M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. A specialist in Latin American History, Dr. Metcalf is the author if Family and Frontier in Colonial Brazil, published by the University of California Press, as well as numerous articles in English and Portuguese.
