About Us
Mu Phi Epsilon was founded on November 13, 1903 at the Metropolitan College of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio. Today, Mu Phi Epsilon has more than 125 collegiate chapters in three countries, over 70 alumni chapters, and more than 70,000 members!
In addition to the International Concert Artist Competition, Mu Phi Epsilon International and the Mu Phi Epsilon Foundation give many awards to collegiate and alumni members. These awards range from scholarships to summer music programs such as the Aspen Music School, to grants for foreign study, doctoral research, and awards in specific musical areas, such as composition, voice, or music therapy. All of the application forms and details of each award are published in our quarterly magazine, the "Triangle". There are numerous local music competitions which are sponsored by local alumni chapters as well.
To join Mu Phi Epsilon you must be a music major or minor at the collegiate level, or if you wish to join an alumni group, a music professional in any area of music. Please write to the International Executive Office for assistance.
