Diane Cummings Persellin
Since 1982, Professor Diane Persellin has served on
the faculty of the Department of Music as Professor of Music Education.
Her teaching areas include elementary music education and Trinity’s
M.A.T. degree program. She also conducts the Trinity University Handbell
Ensemble. Dr. Persellin received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the
University of North Dakota, and her doctorate at Arizona State University. Prior to joining the Trinity faculty, she taught in schools in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Arizona, and served on the faculties of Mayville State University (ND),
and Arizona State University. She is a widely recognized scholar in the field
of music education and has given presentations across the United States, Canada, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Currently, she is Editor of General Music Today, Director of the Trinity Summer Orff Courses, and a board member of the
International Society of Music Education Early Childhood Commission.
