About the Trinity Music Department

Trinity students may participate in music in a wide variety of ways, including performing in ensembles and taking lessons or a class all the way up to a full major or minor.

Students wishing to study music may pursue a B.M. degree in Performance, Composition, or Trinity's highly regarded Education program for teachers, a B.A. in Music, or a minor in Music.

Welcome to our new Director of Choral Activities!

Dr. Gary Seighman joins the Trinity faculty as our new Director of Choral Activities. He comes to us from Washington, D.C., where in addition to completing his doctoral studies he was conductor of the professional parish choir at Church of the Ascension and St. Agnes. A highly versatile director, Dr. Seighman has formally taught all age levels in both public and private schools. He holds music degrees from the University of Maryland, University of Oklahoma, and Westminster Choir College.

At Trinity he will conduct the Trinity Choir, the Chamber Singers, and the Women's Chorus, and he will teach courses in Advanced Choral Conducting and Choral Methods. His debut performances with the Trinity choral students will take place in Margarite B. Parker Chapel on Tuesday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m. He will also conduct the university's annual Christmas Vespers Service on Dec. 6 at 6:00 p.m.
