GOALS

To increase employee morale, productivity, and commitment to Trinity University.

PURPOSE

To assist in the socialization of new classified staff members within their first 60 days of employment.  To help them become familiar with their new "home" quickly.  To provide a contact within the University community.

OVERVIEW

Mentors should be positive, outgoing and optimistic. A mentor and mentee are assigned by the committee. The mentor will introduce the new employee to other members of the University community, explain basic campus policies and procedures, and identify appropriate contact persons on campus. A mentor may decline an assignment but is requested to serve as a mentor at least once a year.

The M.E.N.T.O.R.S. Program newsletter is published quarterly by the M.E.N.T.O.R.S. committee. Any questions about the program or requests for application to become a mentor may be directed to any committee member. To become a mentor, you must be employed by Trinity University for at least six (6) months, be familiar with the campus, and most of all enjoy helping a new employee become a member of the Trinity University community.
