Student
Employment and
Payroll Procedures
An essential part of Trinity's workforce is
made up of the hundreds of students who participate in Student Employment
and the Federal Work-study program. Students interested in obtaining
student employment, FWS or Institutional (non-FWS), should follow these steps to find a job on campus
and complete the payroll process.
To Find A Job:
- Pick up your Federal Work Study Employment Agreement
or Institutional (non-FWS) Employment Agreement from Human Resources, Northrup Hall, Room108.
- Human Resources will verify your identification
for the I-9 form and have you complete tax information. Once completed,
Human Resources will stamp "Approved" on your form.
- Please review the list of vacant positions for
student employment and select a job in which you are interested.
- Human Resources will contact the department(s)
of interest and schedule an interview for you.
- Once hired, take the FWS Employment Agreement to
Financial Aid. It should be signed by the student and the supervisor.
Your counselor will verify that Federal Work Study is still part of
your package, and he or she will forward the Employment Agreement to
Human Resources. If Institutional (non-FWS) return the
Employment Agreement to Human Resources. Only after your completed
form is received will you be set up for Payroll.
To Get Paid:
- Fill out a Student Worksheet (to record the
actual hours worked) and a pay schedule. Time sheets are due in Payroll,
Northrup Hall, Room 108C every other Thursday by 11 a.m., unless a holiday is approaching.
Timesheets may be required to be turned in earlier if a holiday is approaching.
- Most student paychecks are distributed on a
biweekly basis, although some student jobs are paid on a monthly basis.
