TEMPORARY, FULL-TIME. POSITION AVAILABLE JUNE 1, 2008 - JULY 31, 2008.
$10.1207 PER HOUR.
REQUIRES: High School Diploma or its equivalent; one year of general
office experience; accuracy and attention to detail; ability to work well with
information and people (students, parents, alumni, guests) in a team-oriented
environment; ability to maintain accurate records of operations; ability to
handle confidential information with judgment and discretion; ability to work
with limited supervision; ability to lift and carry packages; ability to climb
multiple flights of stairs; ability to handle multiple priorities.
PREFERRED: Previous office experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel, Access, Outlook), mail merge and data entry.
DUTIES: This full-time position provides support to daily operations of
the Residential Life Office; will be responsible for coordinating conference
check-out processes & quick turnaround of room keys, maintaining accurate key
records, greeting University guests in the reception area, answering phones,
assisting room lockouts, and general assistance as needed; works as a liaison
with Conferences and Special Programs staff in maintaining an excellent customer
service history with approximately 8000 summer guests with 15-18 programs; may
also assist in any or all of the following summer RLO tasks: roommate matching,
room assignments, MicroFridge® inventory, summer school/research housing, and
facilities assessment.
52/07-08. TEMPORARY PATROLPERSON. CAMPUS
SECURITY. FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY. $9.9223 PER HOUR.
REQUIRES:
High school
diploma or its equivalent; six months of work experience working closely with
the public; valid Texas Driver’s License and good driving record with no more
than two moving violations in the past three years; effective interpersonal
skills and the ability to handle multiple stressful tasks in a professional and
timely manner; ability to use multi-line telephone, dispatching equipment,
walkie-talkies, and other office equipment; ability to travel about campus on
foot and bike and possess physical stamina to handle emergency situations; must
pass physical exam to include a drug screening and psychological exam.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background investigation.
PREFERRED:
Typing/keyboarding skill of 20 wpm net.
DUTIES:
Patrolling
the campus to assure the safety and security of University property, students,
employees, visitors and enforcing Texas laws, University policies and
regulations; patrols and secures campus facilities on bicycle or foot to detect,
deter and prevent crime from occurring on the grounds of the University;
provides service, information and directions to students, employees and
visitors; enforces University rules and regulations; directs traffic, conducts
routine investigations and/or assists campus law enforcement officials in the
investigation of automobile accidents occurring on campus; responds to emergency
medical situations by providing first aid as required; reports all
irregularities, emergencies or suspicious activity to the Campus Security
Department; assists in presenting University security and safety training
programs; conducts general safety and fire inspections; secures all facilities
and keeps unauthorized personnel off University grounds; performs other duties
as required.
