ATTN: Philosophy Personnel

As president of the Symposium of Philosophy at the University of Central Oklahoma, I am privileged to announce a call for papers for our Fourteenth Annual Southwestern Conference for Undergraduate Philosophers. Past conferences have proven to be very successful, and we hope to continue providing a stimulating forum for promising undergraduate philosophers.

The Conference will be held on Saturday, February 13th, 2010 in the Pegasus Theater, located on the south side of the Liberal Arts Building on the UCO campus. The Conference will feature Dr. Alastair J. Norcross of the University of Colorado as a guest speaker. Professor Norcross will give a presentation on the ethics of cloning.

Papers on any philosophical topic will be considered. Papers should be about 3,000 words (20 minutes read time) and in MLA format. The deadline for e-mail submissions is December 14th, 2009. Submissions should be sent to both of the following e-mail addresses:
msilcox@uco.edu and edadlez@uco.edu. (Click here for flyer).

This invitation is open to all undergraduate philosophers. Please encourage the authors of your best fall term papers to consider submitting their work! The UCO Symposium of Philosophy will provide commentators for all accepted papers.

I have enclosed a flier announcing this call for papers; I would be grateful if you’d post this somewhere at your institution where it might be seen by students of philosophy.

We hope to see you in February!

Sincerely,

Mark Ferguson
President, UCO Symposium of Philosophy
