Professional Associations

The following selections of professional associations perform important services to the discipline.
For example, they publish scientific journals and "newspapers," host conferences, and oversee credentials for practice.
Students can begin to know more about the discipline by reading the newspapers (e.g., the APA Monitor, or the APS Bulletin) or attending conferences when they are held in convenient locations.
Many of these organizations have special categories (and reduced fees) for student membership.
We include a WWW address (if known) so you can contact them.
